Takehiro Shimizu

Drummer, Composer, Educator


Takehiro is a drummer who creates music and involves audiences and musicians with natural rhythm dynamically and subtly.  He has been flying NYC and Japan and has been playing, creating and performing with various musicians with his great passion to pursue being “now” which keeps moving ahead.

Recent his appearance on CDs and digital music are “Soredeii” Kana Uemura, “Doten Eigou” Chizuru Ohmae A Piece of JAZZ Quartet, “Songs for Fukushima” Takumi Seino, “Piano Trio2” Aiko Yoshiba.

In 2005 he won the Yokohama Jazz Promenade Competition with Hitomi Nishiyama trio. He joined indigo jam unit as a original member and has released more than 15 albums since 2005.

Takehiro’s first musical experience was playing piano when he was a child. He joined the school big band and has started playing drums at the age of 12. He has started professional career as a drummer since teenage.

Takehiro currently plays and endorses CANOPUS drums and Paiste cymbals.

Takehiro is an AmSAT certified the Alexander Technique teacher.
